Tension Control Bolts and the innovative Shear Wrench system are the lowest cost method for installing preloaded or High Strength Friction Grip (HSFG) bolts.

TCBs as they are commonly known throughout the world, are replacing conventional high strength friction grip bolts and swaged collar rivets simply because they are quick and easy to install using lightweight electric shear wrenches. Guaranteed tension together with visual inspection removes the likelihood of operator error and ensures engineers that connections are tightened in accordance with specifications.

The System HRC structural bolting assemblies are used in a wide range of applications, from bridge splice plates to beam-to-column connections, from stadia roof trusses to rail switches and crossings. The combination of TCB’s superior tensile strength and phenomenal ductility result in a truly universal bolt that can be employed in almost all steelwork connections.

Tension Control Bolts (TCBs) and the innovative shear wrench system are the lowest cost method of properly installing high strength preloaded bolting assemblies. The standard TCB is recognisable due to the distinctive dome shaped head.

Countersunk (CSK) TCBs can be used for any application where space is restricted. The use of our countersunk bolts is also aesthetically pleasing from an architectural perspective.

The TCB Stud is used where access is restricted and returns the same preload values as standard a TCB. The left-hand threaded nut replaces the conventional bolt head; this allows the stud to be inserted into a clearance hole first and the LH nut is screwed onto the stud afterwards.

TCB Shear Studs are typically used on composite bridges where the steel is being strengthened with concrete being poured from above.

They are used in composite structures and uniquely conforms to the standards for preloaded bolts as well as shear studs:

The TCB TuBolt™ is a non-preloaded blind fixing with all the simplicity, speed and QA of a standard TCB.

Greenkote® anti-corrosion protection

TCBs have their own metal coating plant producing an environmentally friendly anti-corrosion coating called Greenkote®.

The coating is a technically superior replacement for zinc plating, hot dip galvanizing, mechanical galvanizing and zinc flake dip-spin. Greenkote® delivers exceptional protection against corrosion and provides superior adhesion, coating uniformity, is hard wearing and completely eliminates hydrogen embrittlement issues in high strength fasteners.
