Our Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade

Our Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade

On Tuesday, 13th December, 2022, the Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, His Majesty The King’s Personal Representative, visited our Sheffield office to officially present us with our Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade.

We were announced as a Queen’s Award winner back in April, as a recognition of our impressive global growth overseas in the last three years.

It was an honour for us to be visited by Professor Dame Hilary Chapman DBE, who’s duties as Lord Lieutenant see her act as the Monarch’s representative for the county, connecting him to the work of the community, and recognising achievements across South Yorkshire.

On her arrival the Lord Lieutenant was met by our CEO, Anthony Brown, and Dave Edwards, General Manager of our Sheffield facilities. She was then introduced to the rest of the Management team and was shown around our two manufacturing facilities in Sheffield.

After a specially prepared lunch, Dame Hilary was introduced to our workforce where both she and Anthony made short speeches recognising the phenomenal efforts by the Cooper Turner Beck team, which have made the company what it is today.

Phil Barraclough, the Lieutenancy Officer, read out the ‘Grant of Appointment’, confirming our status as Queen’s Award holders, and allowing us to officially ‘fly the flag’ for the next five years.

It was an incredible day for us, and a landmark moment in the history of the company.
