Work station stock levels are agreed with the customer, replenishment frequencies are agreed and planning procedures are put in place for follow-on stock to be held in our warehouses supported with forward ordering from suppliers.
MBW's DLF system is based on a simple two bin arrangement. The assembly operator starts to pick parts from the front bin. When the bin is empty, it is removed and a second bin is moved forward and picking continues. The empty bin becomes the signal for replenishment and is placed at an agreed collection point for re-filling. This can either be done on-site or returned to our warehouses.
