Traditionally, the supply of fasteners has been on a "ship to stores" basis where orders are placed on the supplier by phone, fax, letter or email with the items invoiced on despatch.

Although many benefits still remain with this process many more limitations become apparent with modern manufacturing and purchasing processes.

The challenge faced by all businesses today is to operate in the most cost effective manner possible without compromising on service and quality.

Computer Technology

In conjunction with the managed stock options we are able to offer computer based stock control systems. All of our Managed Systems can be upgraded to incorporate the latest technology. This is particularly effective for multi-site operations supported by a central purchasing function.

The system is based on bar coding and labelling and facilitates an accurate stock replenishment programme. The operator simply reads the bar codes on the bins using the reader. The information is then downloaded via a modem to our system and the stock is replenished. This information then forms the basis of the stock control programme enabling a wide range of management analysis reports to support assessment of usage patterns.
